Welcome to psychtesting.net

I’m Dr. Joe Grillo, Clinical Psychologist, and this site introduces the psychological assessment, testing, evaluation and consultation services I provide.  It also has information designed to help parents and other adults make decisions about getting testing for their child or for themselves.

One of the services psychologists can provide is psychological testing. We psychologists not only did the research that created the tests, but we are the ones who do the ongoing empirical work to establish that there is validity (being sure the test measures what it says it does) and reliability (relative certainty that the test measures the same way each and every time we give it). If you would like to learn more about validity and reliability, take a look at the discussion of these issues in social science research.

Psychological testing, which has been the primary service area of my practice, can be used to help expand the information available to therapists in the course of individual, couples or family therapy. It can be critical in identifying learning challenges and in qualifying for reasonable accommodations in school, on standardized tests, and in the workplace.  Testing also is sometimes needed to help an adult who has applied for a particular job that requires a mental health-related clearance.

While I also have always provided psychotherapy services, I have concentrated on testing, and have extensive experience in psychoeducational testing of children, teens and adults.  Click on the links to the left or above to find out more about me and the services I provide, and about testing that may help you or your child.
